Experience: Great overall, with a lot of routine work and limited learning in surgical management or practical skills.

Advantages: Three days a week. Work starts very early, around 6:30 when surgeries begin.

Disadvantages: Interns may be asked to obtain surgical consent before the patient has been assessed, which made the respondent uncomfortable because they could not confidently explain complications. The schedule leaves little time to study.

Tips: The breast service may have a lighter workload than colorectal and minimally invasive surgery.
