Experience: -Overally very good. -You will have time to study and time to meet the patient. -Decent amount of exposure. -pediatric is low flow you could have 3 pt in the whole shift, adult is a bit more hectic. -you will have a mix of shifts, some with pediatrics, some with adults, you can’t choose one.
Advantages: -very accommodating teams. -mostly light shifts. -you can study during the shift and accomplish especially in pediatrics. -you will go home without being drained.
Disadvantages: -They mostly want you to write the note and do the dirty work. -Associate consultants are the one who will work with you mostly, so they won’t have time to discuss the case properly if the shift is heavy. You can work with residents and honestly I had better discussions with SOME of them. -If you have night shift or morning shift during weekdays, you are expected to attend the morning meeting, it can be long or short depending on who’s presenting, max was 45 minutes😅. يعني تخيلوا خلصتوا دوام الليل وتجلس زياده عشان يتناقشون…
Tips: -You will have 18 shifts, you can make it 16 shifts if you apply for leave beforehand. -not interested so IDK about recommendation letters.
